The final installment of Movies in the Park 2013

The Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commission invites you to come to Eureka’s Sequoia Park for this season's last monthly Movies in the Park free outdoor movie screening. The feature presentation for September is Salem's Lot. The event starts at 7:00 p.m. with a DJ and the feature film starting around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26 at 3550 W Street in Eureka.

Filmed in Ferndale and based on the best-selling Stephen King novel, Salem's Lot is the story of novelist David Soul, who returns to his hometown of Salem, finding that things have changed a bit. More than a bit, in fact: the previously warm and friendly community is downright sinister. Soul suspects that the bizarre behavior of his onetime friends and neighbors is the handiwork of oddball antique dealer James Mason.

The public is encouraged dress warmly and arrive starting at 7:00 p.m. to enjoy music provided by Deep Groove Society DJs and find a place on the lawn for blankets and lawn chairs. Popcorn and refreshments will be available by small donation.

There will be an information table set up on site with Film Commission volunteers collecting donations and answering questions about the organization’s mission and services.

The Film Commission would like to thank its community sponsors Northcoast Audio, Deep Groove Society, Living the Dream Ice Cream, Pierson Building Center, A and I Roofing, Red Lion Hotel, Redwood Capital Bank, Humboldt Wholesale, Northcoast Co-op and Old Town Chocolates and Coffee.
